Cristiana Martin
Evaluation and Research Consultant

Your will to contribute to social change is my inspiration and motivation.
I get inspired by the work developed by the organizations I partner with.
They each have been sensitized by the same things that I am and decided there was a way to use their efforts, time, knowledge, and will to promote social change.
They each have built programs and projects, and sustained unique approaches to deliver what a population needs most.
Finding ways to improve their results is what I love most.

I've always felt comfortable helping those who are struggling.Back in school, I was always helping students and colleagues that had a hard time understanding a subject or preparing for an exam. As an undergraduate, I worked as a tutor for children that needed extra support in school subjects.
I love helping organizations that are struggling to understand, measure and communicate their impact.
Why is that?

Struggle has always moved me and I love helping people get over their hurdles. It fascinates me to really listen how and why something seems challenging to someone. And working with impact-focused, mission-driven organizations that are struggling with the monitoring and evaluation of their impact doesn't seem that different to me. That's also why training is a key component of my practice: I'll provide information and explain whatever is necessary to move forward with clarity.
Do our
values align?
Firm delicacy and empathy are at the core of every daily action I take. Also, I work and live with enthusiasm, intention and clear communication.
Curiosity and life-long learning

My curiosity allows me to value each individual's experiences and partner with organizations working in a myriad of knowledge fields. I love learning about new subjects and improving key skills to my life and profession.
Creativity

Creativity whilst sticking to methodological rigor is what allows me to develop research and evaluation design that will lead to reports that respond to my clients' needs.
Promoting equity and sustainability

I am guided by research, evaluation and facilitation practices that promote racial and gender equity, social justice, and socio-environmental sustainability.
Committment with the next generation

I am always concerned with contributing to the education of the next generation of research and evaluation professionals in the field, which leads me to include training undergraduates in every opportunity I can.
I've worked (almost) everywhere...
and in (almost) every industry!
I’ve worked on projects for municipalities as tiny as Peritoró in Brazil with 20K habitants and for much bigger clients such as the US State Department. From local philanthropic organizations to The Audacious Project.
I’ve worked on projects based in 16 of the 27 Brazilian federal units and in multiple countries around the world as The Philippines, Sierra Leone, Middle East and Latin American countries.
Also, diving into different fields of knowledge is my jam! I love to learn and keep learning. I have worked on evaluations related to education, health, environment, food systems, freedom of speech, technology, and so many other topics.
