Evaluation is an  opportunity.
Let's take it together.

You are a program coordinator who now has to measure something that hasn’t at all been measured. Plus, now you have no idea how to do it.

Sounds familiar?

That reminds me of when a non-profit wanted an evaluation to measure the employability of young men and women (under 21) after taking part in their 3-week employability training and preparation program.

  • Did they have ways to measure that? No.

  • Some sort of baseline? No.

  • Contact list or information of potential employers? No.

  • Tracking from employers that accepted being partners of the initiative? No.

  • Managed to keep a relationship with former participants? No.

  • Long periods without reaching out to former participants? Yes.

  • Theory of Change? No comment.

Not everything was lost, although it seemed to that desperate program coordinator. â€‹I am not one to lose hope easily, also, my creativity and methodology box is always with me. I was able to measure something and develop structure for future measurements.

Similar situations happen more often than you or I would hope. Measuring impact still feels daunting to many organizations, especially when they can't afford to hire a dedicated in-house professional.

My mission is to make your evaluation a much easier and agreeable process, not to mention an exciting one.

I face situations like these all the time and I really enjoy helping these clients.

Still afraid of what will come out of an evaluation?

I understand you, but you don't have to.

An evaluation shouldn't be something to be feared. I know that having someone dive into your program reports and look at them from an external point of view can make you feel seen and vulnerable. But I still believe that evaluations should be cherished as an opportunity to reflect and learn.

Despite having so much information in the palm of our hands, we know that learning is a constant, no matter how experienced an organization and its staff might be.

This is why I believe that the evaluation process has to be a rich learning experience for the organization, the staff, partners, and the program being developed. â€‹As the evaluator of your program, I'll always go the extra mile to be fair to the efforts laid in generating a transformative social change and to the implementation context it faced.

What you can expect from my process

  • A facilitated and engaging evaluation process: participatory evaluations require true engagement and commitment from informants and users - which, in my experience, is highly benefited from facilitation practices and strategies.

  • A deep understanding of what is really needed and useful to the organization and to leverage impact: in other words, I will dive deep into the specific needs of your organization or project.

  • Attention to context: your program will be seen as part of the institutional, social, policy and political context it was developed.

  • Equity-driven evaluations: evaluations should be able to be used to advance equity and social justice.
